New updates in S9 and S9+

In Appearance

Generally speaking, there are not ton of changes between S8 and S9, but basically the seam frontage as S8, in the picture from ifanc, we can see the almost seam look of its display just as the last generation of S8, but when it comes to the back, you can see the deference right away.

The highly controversial fingerprint identification module in last year now has been moved from the side of the camera to the underside of the camera. As long as the finger moves down the back of the fuselage, it touches the identification module and unlocks it directly.

Battery

S9 has a 3,000mAh (S9) or 3,500mAh (S9 Plus) battery; is IP68 dust and water resistant; and supports both fast wired and fast wireless charging. Like the S8, the S9 is a gigabit phone, but this year it can support speeds up to 1.2Gbps and supports 600MHz frequencies for T-Mobile.

Software

For software, the S9 will launch with Android 8.0 Oreo, but much like the hardware, the design isn’t hugely different from the software on the S8. Samsung has redesigned parts of the Bixby app, most notably the camera features, which can now be used to estimate calories in food and provide faster real-time translation.

Camera

The big, highlight new feature will be the new S9 camera system, which comes as a single lens on the S9 and a dual camera on the S9 Plus. The Camera however uses a single camera, 12 million pixel f1.5/f2.4 large aperture (variable aperture) after the main lens, s9+ is a dual-camera, which doubles 12 million pixels, the main camera and S9 consistent. And both of them provide the ultra-speedily entire binuclear sensor, support the 960fps frame rate slow motion broadcast, and automatic focusing as well as the double OIS optics guards against shakes (F1.5/F2.4).

AR Emoji

The most exciting part will be the camera-related feature—AR Emoji, this is the answer answer to Apple’s Animoji. The device will draw over 100 facial characteristics through algorithmic analysis users’ 2D image, which to create real-time response and mimics the user expression of the 3D model in the form of 3D dynamic response.

Bixby 2.0

Another area where Samsung made major changes is Bixby — specifically in the augmented reality Vision section. Besides interface tweaks that make Bixby Vision look more in tune with the camera app, Samsung also added three new modes — Live Translate, Makeup and Food. The previously available shopping and landmark recognition features are now individual modes, too.

The specific configurations of S9 and S9+ are here as follows:

  • Processor snapdragon 845 and Samsung Exynos 9810 (Europe, Middle East, South Korea)
  • 4GB S9 Memory space and S9+6GB
  • ROM: 64GB\128GB\256GB
  • Android 8.0 Oreo
  • Support 4X4 MIMO/CA, LAA, LTE Cat.18
